A consortium (plural: consortia) is an association of two or more individuals, companies, organizations or governments (or any combination of these entities) with the objective of participating in a common activity or pooling their resources for achieving a common goal.

In the aerospace context, a consortium is a group of companies or organizations that join together to work on a specific project or to share resources and expertise. Examples of aerospace consortia include the European Space Agency (ESA), which is made up of several European countries that collaborate on space exploration and technology development, and the International Space Station (ISS) partnership, which includes NASA, Roscosmos, the Canadian Space Agency, the European Space Agency, and JAXA. Another example is the Airbus consortium which is a European multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells civil and military aeronautics products worldwide.
